Yep, it's a Shelf shelf. And if you're thinking you've seen a Shelf shelf before, you're right. This one, however, is the Typeshelf, and is by Thirtyfive Creative Works, who explain the shelf thusly:

2D cut out letters on stainless steel are bent along the perforations at the bottom to form the "shelf". The material characteristics of steel provides a sturdy platform for books etc. without requiring additional hardware.

This simplistic approach allows an easy manufacturing process with minimum labour and energy/material consumption. "Thinness" of the design and flat-pack feature makes transportation and storage easier, less expensive and more environmental friendly.

Yours for $165 direct from ThirtyFive; custom options are also available.

Materials: Powder-coated stainless steel; available in red, black, and white

Measurements: Perimeter, 29.75"X10"; shelf, 26.75"X6.75
