*You know the literary tattoo is taking off when a publisher offers a lifetime subscription to all its releases if you get one that's inspired by one of its books.

*Because libraries are clearly raking it in, California is thisclose to eliminating all state funding for them. That'll definitely end well.

*Didn't get enough Holden the first time around? Don't worry, there's a sequel to The Catcher in the Rye coming.

*Speaking of things coming soon, a Fight Club musical might actually happen. If it's starring Brad Pitt's abs, I'm there.

*As if The Simpsons wasn't cool enough already, Neil Gaiman is to guest star in an upcoming episode. The episode is to be called The Book Job, and Gaiman reports that he was asked to "do an American accent that would sound to Americans like Dick Van Dyke's English accent sounded to you [Brits]." While we're on a roll, let's make that David Sedaris on Dancing with the Stars dream come true!

*In other pop culture news, two things I greatly enjoy are to collide, hopefully creating another thing I will greatly enjoy - Ricky Gervais is to voice Mole in the new adaptation of The Wind in the Willows.

*I wish I could go to The World's Most Literary Rent Party Ever!

*And last but not least, don't forget to head over to this year's Bloggies to shower your favorite blogs with some voting love! (I was a finalist for Best Topical Blog last year, and it pretty much made my month.) The nomination period ends this Sunday.
