Booklicious: Bookcase Wednesday

Another month, another tree-inspired bookcase. Designed by Roberto Carrazzo, this one seems still to be in the concept — and nameless — stage but looks to have potential.

So far, Roberto envisions his design to be made from a single-cast plastic case in striking blue and red. He claims it could be fixed to the wall in a traditional style or placed in the center of a room for maximum effect, though I don't see any supporting pieces that would enable that sort of positioning. I'm also a bit concerned over the use of plastic — I'm not sure those non-central branches would be able to support a great deal of weight, which is of primary importance when selecting a bookcase. But hey, that's what the concept stage is for, right?
