Booklicious: A Lick of Literary Polish for Your Nails

Looking for a way to amp up your nails? This might be just the thing. Zuzu over at Passion Nail Art devised a way to put a love of words right at one's fingertips – literally. The process is pretty simple - all you need is a clear base coat of nail polish, a pale shade of polish (although I think a neon would also be effective, and more striking), a clear top coat, some thin pages (newspaper is ideal), a small dish containing clear alcohol, and a pair of scissors.

*First, paint your nails with the base coat, then follow with two coats of color.
*Wait for your nails to dry, then dunk your nails in the dish of alcohol.
*Carefully apply small, precut sections of the paper to each of your nails and let sit.
*Gently peel away the paper – the ink should have adhered to your nails.
*Finish with a protective top coat.

You can find the original instructions (in French, alas), with step-by-step photos here.

Will rubbing-alcohol work?
