Booklicious: Goldfish Bookends? Not For Me, Thanks

I saw this Apartment Therapy post a few weeks ago and wasn't a fan. It came to my attention again today, and after giving it some more thought, I'm still not into the concept. I'm not a big fish person, and I could be accused of only appreciating them for their looks, but using fishbowls - excuse me, fish jars - as bookends is a bit much, even for me. It seems cruel to the fish, firstly; secondly, the logistics would be nightmarish; and third, where do you even find straight-edged jars? Looks like I'm in the minority, though, according to the poll. So what do you guys think? Is it hot or not?

It's a cute concept, but I agree that the logistics make it kind of a nightmare. Water + books = bad idea. And bowls aren't a good way of keeping goldfish. They have to be changed/cleaned like every day.

It's an interesting concept, but I'm with Jane. Water + books seems like an accident waiting to happen. Plus, those small jars can't be a good environment for the fish.

I like the general idea, but I think I would do something more like a terrarium. Much less water and no fish being used as bookends.

Hmm...how about filling the jars with silk flowers, buttons, seashells, bookmarks, or even those little pom poms we wore on our shoes in kindergarten?
